Title: Identity Theft (9/9)
Characters: Ten, Rose
Genre: adventure/humor/romance
Rating: PG
Warnings/Spoilers: none, really. Takes place earlier in the second season.
Summary: The Doctor and Rose go to answer a distress call on the planet of Second Plight, where time is changing drastically. If only a dying people were all they had to deal with; but when a harmless-looking young woman enters their lives, the Doctor is changed pretty drastically himself.
Feedback: is adored and cherished forever.

“You did just fine as you were,” she reminded him. “Saved the planet, didn’t you? You’re always doin’ that. Mind you, I wish I’d been there for your first moments. I can just imagine the look on your face! Going to stand up and wondering why you’re not getting any taller.”

“That was really the least of my problems,” the Doctor admitted, on second thought.

“‘New breasts,’” said Rose, in a fairly credible imitation, “‘that’s weird.’”

that of understanding any language, was a simple writer's way out for otherwise annoying little details, but like all such writers ways out creates its own when its dealt with directly.
( staging point in modern who, and thus spoiler for minor bit in JE )
So, how many companions in classic Who have been left in a place where, as the Tardis effect wears off, might have not understood the language of the place they were deposited.
( I can think of... )

I found an old interview from 2004; according to the website it was on the DVD (LOTMS, I guess) but I don't remember reading or hearing any of this before.

GERARD: Bob knows a lot of celebrities. He’s just knowledgeable, you know a lot of celebrities. You spit out names I don’t even know. Come on man, cast the movie, it’s your job.

GERARD: Obviously.
BOB: Mikey. What was the dude we saw the other day? Caddie Shack 2 guy?
GERARD: Oh! Jackie Mason. I think Christina Ricci would play me, Brad Pitt would play Mikey.
BOB: Ray would be…that’s a rough question.
GERARD: How about Ashley Simpson.
BOB: No, Ashley Simpson would be Frank.
GERARD: Okay, Ashley Simpson will be Frank.
BOB: Definitely. Ray would be that American Idol dude.
